I think that the game has its fast moments and its slow moments. Most of OGSS's music is actually pretty upbeat, with the exceptions of L03-Maintenance and L05-Flight Grovesīut then SS2's Engineering Ambience had this discordant audio that I almost feel inspired games like Dead Space's audio. OGSS's medical bay, and SS2's Medsci 1 had really intense, action-y upbeat music, which I don't really feel carry the feeling of horror. I'm a little ambivalent on the music for this, and I'm saying this as someone who is both a fan of OGSS as well as all the other 'shock' games that came afterwards. The game still looks visually-engaging, but it is not much different than the demo I saw years earlier. It was kind of interesting and funny, but definitely sets different tones than the original. I just watched a good amount of gameplay, and the intro segment is something else. It was likely the HUD and early game mechanics I saw. I thought about playing the recent version of the demo to get a better idea of how much further the remake has come, but if the music is still "lacking" as before, then I am not getting anything new.Įven something about the gameplay and interface didn't feel as inviting at the time. ![]() According to others, it looks like it was never changed. ![]() I thought it was too early of what to expect and wondered if it might've been fixed later. I was waiting for music cues to play when enemies showed up, and that the music would change dynamically. I was hoping for remade versions of the past music to sound even more inviting and intense. When the 2020 version of the demo was released, I played through it and wondered why the game looked somewhat interesting graphically, but felt so dull in the sound department.
